The Ultimate Budget RV Travel Guide.
If you are planning a Motorhome or Caravan trip around the USA in the near future. Then this article is something you won’t want to miss.
Marianne and Randy have travelled extensively in their RV for 9 years and over that time have gathered and documented all kinds of useful information and tips to help you save money on groceries, dining, entertainment, entry fees, Internet, laundry and dumping your tanks, without detracting from the enjoyment or your travels.
For those of you planning a Trip luckily there are many areas of North America, including the most scenic states (Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, California, and Colorado) there are still plenty of free, scenic, legal and safe camping areas available.
After searching for years for a RV Travel guide that would give them the information they needed the most example:–. where to find safe and free camping areas and other ways to save money on their travels but they soon realized that because no one was making money from the free sites there where no guide books or magazines with them listed.
The only way to find these countless gems is to hear about them by asking the local people and other RVers, or to drive the back roads yourself to look for them which is fine if you know exactly where you are going.
Marianne and Randy say that although RVers are generous with sharing information, but when it comes to their favourite free camping areas, particularly those that only hold about 3-a RV they keep the details close to there chest.
Over the years they have found Hundreds Of Free Campsites and have written a series of RV travel guide eBooks that they call “The Frugal Shunpiker’s Guides.”
These guides are not just for RVers. Many of the suggested frugal and “camp-for-free” areas listed are suitable for tents as well as RVs.
Other useful information you will find on their website include
- 17 Tips To Find Free RV Camping Anywhere
- Gas Price Comparison For Canadians
- The Best Free Scenic Camping
- RV Repairs On The Road and much more.
Marianne says:– “If free campsites exist but the road to them is particularly bad, or the campsites aren’t level enough for an RV, we’ll let you know, and usually have an alternative suggestion. If we’ve spent our money on an attraction that we didn’t feel met our expectations, we’ll tell you about it.
And if it will cost more in gas to drive to the free camping area than using the nearest pay campgrounds, then it’s not really free, is it?
So, unless it’s a particularly scenic site and well worth the trip, we won’t even mention it.”

Review Of The Frugal Shunpiker’s RV Travel Guides By Mark Polk
If you enjoy boondocking (dry camping), saving money, and witnessing spectacular sights Marianne Edwards E-book series on RV Boondocking are for you. Each e-book (there are currently 3, Arizona, New Mexico & Texas with more titles on the way) is loaded with valuable information for campers on where to go boondocking, how to get there and what to do and see once you arrive.
What I really enjoyed is how Marianne separates each state into sections making it easy to concentrate on a specific route you may want to follow, or a specific area of the state you intend to visit. Within each section she goes into great detail on what that area of the state has to offer; from what time of year it is best to visit the area to State & National Parks, monuments, attractions, facts, fees, wildlife, free camping, hiking, information on the local communities and so much more. These books are well organized in an easy to read manner and the photographs highlighting some of the attractions makes you want to load up the RV and hit the road right now.
If you are planning to visit any region of any state Marianne has written about don’t leave home without the e-book. It is a valuable guide to getting the most out of your trip while saving the most too. Whether you camp in a tent, dry camp in an RV or camp with all of the amenities these e-books offer something for everyone.
As an added bonus when you order an e-book you will receive Marianne’s RV Basic Boondocking e-book free of charge. It is a great primer on what boondocking is and it is full of tips and tricks to save you money and make the most out of all of your boondocking experiences.
